PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery that can minimize the generation of sparks even in the case of fitting a negative side terminal first and then fitting a positive side terminal. SOLUTION: This battery is provided with a stud bolt 13 projecting at the almost center part of a conductive electrode 12. A terminal 15 of a cable 14 extending from external equipment is fitted into the stud bolt 13, and a nut 17 is screwed with the stud bolt 13 from the upper part of the terminal 14 to press the terminal into contact with a pedestal 12. An elastic piece 18 serving as a space holding means for elastically holding the terminal 15 fitted into the stud bolt 13, in a position spaced from the pedestal 12, is provided around the stud bolt 13.
