PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent hair treatment agent giving excellent treating effect on the hair and having excellent temperature stability. SOLUTION: The transparent hair treatment agent contains (A) 3.0-30.0 wt.% polyglycerol fatty acid ester having an HLB of >=10.0 and derived from a polyglycerol having an average degree of polymerization of >=3 and one or more fatty acids selected from 8-22C saturated or unsaturated fatty acids, (B) 3.0-30.0 wt.% polyhydric alcohol having >=3 functionality, (C) 5.0-50.0 wt.% water and (D) 20.0-70.0 wt.% oily component having a refractive index of 1.30-1.50 at 20 deg.C and exhibiting liquid state at normal temperature.
