PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economical electrochemical capacitor which is integrally molded on a base formed of iron, steel, and iron plating by the use of iron oxide as an electrode active material and very widely applicable, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: This capacitor is a super capacitor which has a capacitance of 0.1 F or above and is equipped with at least one electrode formed of a material whose chemical composition is represented by a formula; FexOyHz (wherein, 1.0<=x<=3.0, 0.0<=y<=4.0, and 0.0<=z<=1.0). The material whose chemical composition is represented by the formula, FexOyHz, is formed through a manufacturing process which selects one out of chemical oxidation, electrochemical oxidation, electrolytic plating, electroless plating, sputtering, laser cutting, thermal evaporation, chemical vapor deposition, chemical conversion, electrophoresis and groups of their combinations. |
