MULTICOLOR CONFOCAL MICROSCOPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a confocal microscope which makes it possible obtain a multicolored image or color image. SOLUTION: Two or more laser beams varying in wavelengths from each other are used for an illumination section. A detecting section 17 is provided with, for example, a hologram color filter 18 which spectrally splits the incident light through a pinhole 13' and condenses the light rays of specific wavelengths by each of the prescribed positions and a detector 19 which detects the light rays spectrally split and condensed by the hologram color filter at every wavelength. The use of a beam-condensing lens, diffraction grating and dichroic mirrors in place of the hologram color filter is equally good.
