<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove malodor from a metabolic product in a fermenting compost raw material, to reduce salt content in the compost and to accelerate fermentation at the same time. SOLUTION: Raw material particles of fermenting organic fertilizer are brought into contact with air at a relative contacting speed and a carbon dioxide gaseous layer and a salt-containing water layer oozed from inside of the raw material particle to its surface by fermentation are exfoliated by friction with air at relative contacting speed and are diffused in air. As a more specific example, the compost raw material particles in the middle of falling downward are sent flying in the air at a prescribed speed by a rotary blade and the carbon dioxide gaseous layer and the salt-containing water layer on the surface of the raw material particle are exfoliated by contact friction between the spattered raw material particles and air, and are diffused in air. The relative contacting speed adequate to exfoliation is >=2.0 m/sec, preferably 2.3 to 2.6 m/sec. In order to enhance desalting effect, potassium chloride may be added to the compost raw material by 1 to 3%.</p> |
