PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative electrode for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery suppressing cycle degradation with high capacity using silicon as a main active material, and moreover mechanically flexible to allow the manufacture of batteries in various forms. SOLUTION: In this negative electrode for the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, a current collector is jointed to a silicon film layer comprising a silicon film or the like that may contain a dopant such as phosphorus, directly or through a conductor layer such as a silicon alloy. |
