PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measuring a substance utilizing fluorescence energy transfer and a reagent for the method, in particular to provide a method for measuring a substance utilizing fluorescence energy transfer between different fluorescent substances, each labeling a first substance and a second substance having affinity to a measurement object substance, and the reagent for the method. SOLUTION: The method for measuring the substance X comprises using the first substance A having combining ability with the measurement object substance X labeled with one or more fluorescent substances F1 consisting of one or more types, and the second substance B having combining ability with the measurement object substance X labeled with one or more fluorescent substances F2 consisting of one or more types. The F1 and the F2 are in the relation of a donor and an acceptor in the fluorescence energy transfer.
