PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent reflectance from lowering because the metallic material of the surface of a convex rotating body mirror is oxidized by an external factor and dust or water from infiltrating to the inside of an optical member and obstructing image pickup in an image pickup device equipped with the convex rotating body mirror and an image pickup mechanism. SOLUTION: This image pickup device having the convex rotating body mirror 1 and the image pickup mechanism 2 arranged at a position opposed to the mirror 1 and including a lens 3 and an image pickup part 4 is provided with an optical member 5 optically coupling the mirror 1 and the mechanism 2. The optical member is composed of light transmissive substance, and brought into contact with the surface of the mirror 1 so as to cover it over.
