SHOCK ABSORBER OF OPERATING DEVICE FOR OPENING AND CLOSING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of generating strong collision between a piston and a cylinder in a shock absorber at a closing time and the problem of changing a characteristic in the case of vertically/horizontally placing the shock absorber. SOLUTION: In the shock absorber of the operating device for an opening and closing apparatus wherein the inside of a cylinder 14 is partitioned by a piston 12 of the shock absorber to generate braking force in the shock absorber by flow resistance generated when a fluid 28 sealed in this cylinder 14 is allowed to flow between one chamber and the other chamber through this piston 12, a through hole 13 connecting one chamber to the other chamber in the piston 12 is formed while a flow path sectional area control means is provided to control the flow resistance by adjusting a flow sectional area of the fluid 28 flowing in the through hole 13 in the cylinder 14, so as to control small the braking force in the halfway of an action of the piston 12 and control large the braking force just before the completion of interruption and closing by this flow path sectional area control means.
