PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain stable braking force of a emergency stop device by preventing the single-side contact of a braking element with a guide rail and producing an increase in contact area between the braking element and the guide rail. SOLUTION: A through-hole, a groove and a recess are formed in the loaded surface of the braking element of the emergency stop device to prevent the concentration of a push-against load at the center of the braking element and produce a decease in single-side contact with the guide rail and an increase in contact area.
