PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate manufacturing of a support substrate and high-density recording of an optical recording medium which is formed with a groove or a land disposed on the support substrate as recording tracks and is provided with prepits. SOLUTION: Projecting line parts 3 and recessed line parts 4 exist alternately on a support substrate 2 of the optical recording medium and the crossing projecting parts 31 (prepits) connecting the adjacent projecting line parts 3 and 3 to each other exist thereon, in which these crossing projecting parts 31 (prepits) have the plane shapes made narrowest near the centers between the projecting line parts 3 and 3a adjacent to each other. The support substrate is manufactured by using a master disk having a resist layer formed with the respective matrix patterns of the projecting line parts, the recessed line parts and the prepits. In manufacturing the master disk, the resist layer is intermittently irradiated with a piece of beam for exposure, by which the irradiated regions are formed as the matrix patterns of the recessed line parts or the projecting line parts 3 and the irradiation pause regions are formed as the matrix patterns of the prepits. |
