PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus which can save the communication cost while reducing the volume of information received by receiving only the information of the necessary minimum. SOLUTION: The navigation apparatus 1 is provided with a telephone part 10, which can receive map information and peripheral information by communication, a display part 8 which displays the superposing current position on the information received by the telephone part 10 and a control circuit 6 for controlling the telephone part 10 and the display part 8. With the control circuit 6, the telephone part 10 receives map information and the peripheral information of a specified region containing the starting point and the destination and the display part 8 displays while mutually superposing the map information, the peripheral information and the current position. On the other hand, outside the specified region, the telephone part 10 receives at least the map information and the display part 8 displays while mutually superposing at least the map information and the current position. |
