PURPOSE: A method and a device for converting the text file of a printed image are provided to convert the text file data converted into a printer output image via a printer driver into an original file. CONSTITUTION: An instruction check unit(602) checks an instruction by using the reference data. If the second token data are on an instruction list(606), a token pointer is moved. If printer output image data remain, new second token data are obtained. A control code check unit(603) checks the control code of the printer output image. When the second token data is not matched with the instruction on the instruction list, the third token data are obtained. If the control code matching to the third token data is in a control code list(605), the token pointer is moved. If printer output image data remains, new second token data are obtained. If the third token data is not matched with the control code of the control code list, a text data storage unit(604) stores the third token data in a specific file.
