<p>An authentication device and associated system and method for authentication. The authentication device (110) may be used to verify that a processor thereof is authorized to receive a prearranged entitlement. The possessor may be entitled to a good or service, access to a location, a discount, etc. Verification and arrangement may occur through communication with a central server (120), initiated by the authentication device (110), from any of a plurality of remote interfaces (130). In one embodiment, the present invention may replace a traditional paper ticketing system and improve efficiency by regulating admittance to an access-control venue with the reuseable authentication device (110). An authentication device (110) of such a system preferably includes a display (240) for providing information, including that which might be found on a traditional paper ticket and/or ticket stub.</p> |
