A thermometer installed on the engine of a vehicle for measuring the temperature of the engine during running, wherein a temperature/resistance element detects the temperature of the engine at all times, the detected temperature is displayed in a display and whether the detected temperature exceeds a warning set temperature or not is displayed in a temperature warning display, whereby a driver can perform an accelerating operation and a gear shifting operation while monitoring the displayed detected temperature and temperature warning so that an engine load can be maintained in an optimum state.
