PURPOSE: A voice announcement method in a portable phone using an ear-microphone is provided so that a user can receive voice information from a portable phone, connected with an external earphone unit, using the button of the external earphone unit. CONSTITUTION: In an idle state, a control part in a portable phone checks whether the button of an external earphone unit is pushed(3a). If the button is pushed, the control part confirms again whether the button was pushed(3b). In case that it is judged that the button was pushed, the control part receives time information from a clock part(3c). Then the control part reads necessary voice data from an announcement voice memory, based on the received time information, and transfers the read voice data to a voice processing part so that a time voice announcement message can be made(3d).
