PURPOSE: A motor control method of a power steering system is provided to improve steering force of the power steering by reducing torque riffle of the motor in stopping the power steering. CONSTITUTION: Forward or reverse driving current is supplied to a motor according to the direction of rotation of the motor to turn the steering system, and an input end is turned on or duty-controlled. Operation of the motor is controlled by turning off or duty-controlling the output end outputting forward or reverse driving current from the motor. The input end of the motor is controlled in stopping the motor, and the output end of the motor is turned off. Riffle torque is eliminated, and steering force is improved by forming the loop for discharging remaining power from the coil of the motor in stopping the motor.
