The invention relates to a method for producing inorganic-organic composite materials by means of a polymerisation reaction of appropriate starting compounds. According to the invention, the appropriate starting compounds are mixed with an anhydrous carboxylic acid and a suitable catalyst is added to the reaction mixture.
