An image status is judged based on the average value and standard deviation of an image feature amount, image correction information in that image status is prepared according to an average value and standard deviation, and an image is corrected by the prepared image correction information. In this way, parameters for correcting an image according to an image's feature amount are automatically and highly accurately determined to correct an image by parameters. Accordingly, an image can be improved while image-processing operator's efforts are drastically reduced.
