Low pressure machine comprises a hollow chamber (15) subjected to a low pressure and through which molten glass flows; and a barrier (16) to retain foam and components floating on the molten glass. The chamber has a larger cross-section below the barrier produced by a recess of the base wall (12.1) and/or by bulging the side walls of the refining bank (12). The barrier is placed at an angle to the flow direction (18.2) of the molten glass between the side walls delimiting the hollow chamber. Preferred Features: The base wall delimiting the hollow chamber has a recess with a depth decreasing in the flow direction before the barrier.
