A signal generator (12) generates a periodic square wave signal corresponding to a signal output by an inductive circuit such as motor (11). A comparative circuit converts the square wave into triangular/sawtooth wave, to be compared with a reference signal for generating a control signal based on which a transistor (16) connected to the comparative circuit and the motor gradually increases current flowing through the motor. An independent claim is included for starting method for eliminating peak current in inductive circuit.
