PURPOSE: An adsorbent for purification of livestock wastewater is provided which outstandingly treats nitrogen and phosphorous, does not cause secondary contamination, and in which filtering effects according to pH or temperature change of wastewater flown in are not varied, and a staircase type wastewater treatment system using the adsorbent is provided. CONSTITUTION: The staircase type wastewater treatment system for purification of livestock wastewater is characterized in that livestock wastewater is purified as it is sequentially passing through staircase type six stage adsorption tanks, chip shaped adsorbent coated with a composition comprising oyster shells, ocher, bentonite, charcoal powder and chitosan solution for adsorption reinforcement is received in first and second stage adsorption tanks so that filtering effect is obtained in the first stage while nitrogen compounds and floating matter are promptly adsorbed by reverse osmosis effect in the second stage, ball shaped adsorbent coated with a composition comprising oyster shells, ocher, bentonite and charcoal powder is received in the third to fifth stage adsorption tanks so that filtering effect is obtained in the third and fifth stages while remaining contaminants are easily adsorbed by self reverse osmosis effect in the fourth stage, and a filtering layer of hard charcoal, bamboo charcoal or activated carbon is formed in the lower inner part of the six stage adsorption tank while a filtering layer of washed veinstone or sand is supplied onto the above filtering layer in the state that the latter is stacked on the former so that livestock wastewater finally passes through the two layers.
