It is intended to clarify novel TRAF-binding factors, in particular, a TRAF-C terminal interacting factor (TCIF), polynucleotides encoding the same and substances relating thereto and enable the application of the same. Polypeptides selected from among the following polypeptides: (1) a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1 in Sequence Listing; (2) polypeptides comprising a fragment or at least a part of the polypeptide as described in the above (1); (3) polypeptides containing a polypeptide described in the above (1) or (2); (4) polypeptides having at least a homology of about 70% in the amino acid sequence with a polypeptide described in the above (1) or (2) and having an activity of binding to TRAF; and (5) polypeptides having an amino acid sequence derived from the above-described amino acid sequence by deletion, substitution, addition or insertion of one to several amino acids and having an activity of binding to TRAF; and polynucleotides encoding these polypeptides.
