B-SPLINE OPTIMIZATION OF OPTICAL GLASSES ESPECIALLY SPECTACLE GLASSES WITH PLANES OF SYMMETRY

Disclosed is a method for optimizing an atoric surface of an optical glass, especially a spectacle glass, having at least one plane of symmetry.The inventive method is characterized by the following combination of features: the atoric surface having at least one plane of symmetry is divided up into at least two areas separated by at least one plane of symmetry; one of the separated areas (the represented area) is represented by a coefficient set of B-spline functions; the rising heights in the at least one other area are calculated by reflecting the coefficients or coordinates on the at least one plane of symmetry; the atoric surface is optimized by varying the B-spline coefficient set of the represented area.
