The present invention discloses a hair growth promoter comprising [ gamma -hydroxy-N-methyl-L-leucine<9>] cyclosporin A, in which a hydroxy group is added to a gamma carbon of N-methyl-L-leucine at No. 9 position in cyclosporin A by metabolic action of a microorganism, as an active ingredient.
