<p>Aqueous suspension eyedrops for treating herpes keratitis which contain as the active ingredient a therapeutically sufficient amount of 9-[(2-hydroxyethoxy)methyl]guanine and have an excellent stability as drugs. More specifically, aqueous suspension preparations for eyedrops which are characterized by containing 0.2 to 5% by weight of microcrystals of 9-[(2-hydroxyethoxy)methyl]guanine or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt, 0.05 to 1% by weight of partly saponified polyvinyl acetate and 0.01 to 1% by weight of a nonionic surfactant and having a pH value of 6 to 8. In particular, aqueous suspension preparations for eyedrops wherein the microcrystals of 9-[(2-hydroxyethoxy)methyl]guanine or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt employed as the active ingredient have a minor diameter of 50 νm or less, a major diameter of 70 νm or less and a ratio of the minor diameter to the major diameter of 1:10 or less.</p> |
