<p>A spiral conveyor (10) comprising a support frame (12) mounted on a base (11), aplurality of arcuate conveyor sections (13) interconnected to form a helical conveyor having at least one entrance (16) and one discharge (17), each of said conveyor sections (13) having a plurality of self-driven conveyor rollers (25), each of said rollers (25) being activated to rotate in clockwise or counterclockwise direction at a selectable speed, sensor means (21) positioned on selected conveyor sections for detecting the presence of a load in such section, and control logic means for operating said rollers (25) in either an upward or a downward direction.</p> |
