<p>A roll and press gas lighter (1) is rendered child resistant by a shroud (15) which encloses part of the periphery (14, 14') of the thumbwheels (11, 11'), limiting the amount of arc (16, 16') exposed to the user's thumb and increasing the speed and force with which the thumbwheels must be rotated in order to operate the lighter. Preferably the shroud (15) forms part of a metal shield (9) surrounding the burner.</p> |
