<p>The procedure for removing the skins from shelled nuts and seeds consists of subjecting them to freezing e.g. with liquid nitrogen acting only on the skins, which become fragile and can then be removed by air jets. The chamber (5) is in the form of a tube (6) which slopes down from the conveyor and has the blowers and an outlet flap (10) at its lower end, the blowers being fitted to deliver the air jets in a tangential direction.
