PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display and a method for fabricating the same are provided to prevent the cold bubble and flash phenomena by forming channels having no spacers, or forming rigid spherical spacers with polymer spherical spacers at a proper ratio, under a black matrix pattern in an outer sealing pattern part. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display includes the first substrate(10) having active areas(22) and environmental areas(20), the second substrate(12) facing the first substrate, spacers(24) keeping an interval between the first and second substrates, liquid crystal materials injected between the first and second substrates, and a sealing pattern(16) for sealing the liquid crystal between the first and second substrates, wherein channel parts(18), of which spacer distribution density is zero, exist between the sealing pattern and the active areas, and the channel part is formed with a thickness of 0.5mm to 5mm overlapping a black matrix pattern(14) on the second substrate.
