PURPOSE: An installation for downhill transportation of passengers from higher station to lower station is provided to enable the downhill transportation of passengers from a higher station to a lower station along a rail. CONSTITUTION: An installation for downhill transportation of passengers from higher station to lower station includes cars(2) guided along a rail are equipped with a first(61,71) of two interacting elements of an electromagnetic braking device, in particular with one or more permanent magnets. Braking strips made from an electrically conductive nonmagnetizable material, as copper or aluminum interacting with the first and a second element of the braking device, are installed on a guide rail. Each car is equipped with one or more first elements with an operating brake being adjustable as the function of load, and with one or more first elements of a safety brake operating device moved during downhill travel.
