PURPOSE: A BLDC motor and driver circuit for the same is provided to reduce cost, simplify structure and reduce size of motor by eliminating sensors for sensing the position of rotor. CONSTITUTION: A BLDC motor comprises a rotor(2) constituted by a permanent magnet; a stator(1) constituted by an iron core and single or two phase coils; and an auxiliary permanent magnet(4) attached to the stator, and which aligns initial position of the rotor to a predetermined position. Alternatively, a BLDC motor comprises a rotor constituted by a permanent magnet; a stator constituted by an iron core and single or two phase coils; and a diode connected in a forward direction between the motor and AC power supply terminal, and which rectifies only the positive voltage from the AC power and applies the rectified voltage to the coil of the stator. Thus, the motor is driven without using a sensor for detecting the position of rotor.
