Method for managing applications in a chip card system (1), which also comprises a terminal (2) for processing card data using at least one application. Method involves loading of an application into card memory, instigating communication between card and terminal and copying into the terminal program memory the application loaded in the card memory. The invention also relates to a corresponding application management device for use with a chip card system.
