PURPOSE: A flat color CRT is provided to achieve improved explosion proof characteristics by reducing vacuum stress distribution at ends of X-axis and Y-axis, while improving screen quality by increasing color purity. CONSTITUTION: A flat color CRT comprises a rectangular panel having a flat outer surface, an inner surface with a predetermined curvature, and a skirt extended in a vertical direction from the inner and outer surfaces; and a funnel coupled to the edge of the skirt of the panel. The relationship R2/R3 >2 is satisfied, wherein the radii of curvatures of the longer side, shorter side and diagonal line of the inner surface of panel where an effective screen and a skirt of the panel meet, are R1, R2 and R3, respectively.
