APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR OBTAINING FRAME SYNCHRONIZATION IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for obtaining frame synchronization in a mobile communication system are provided to decode rapidly a broadcasting channel by using user equipment after a cell search process is performed. CONSTITUTION: A channel estimator(401) demodulates a pilot channel and estimates a fading component of a down link. A synchronous channel(405) obtains 10msec frame synchronization and code group information from an initial cell search process and provides the obtained information to a controller(404). A PCCPCH demodulator(402) has a memory for processing a receiving signal by using an offline method. The PCCPCH demodulator(402) demodulates a section of 20msec by using a fading coefficient, performs a CRC process, and provides a result to the controller(404). The controller(404) provides obtained timing to a time controller(403), accumulates the result to a CRC counter, and determines the frame synchronization by using a value of the CRC counter. The time controller(403) controls a demodulation section of the PCCPCH demodulator(402) on the basis of the timing information of the controller(404).
