<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seatbelt winding device rapidly actuating a lock mechanism in an emergency. SOLUTION: A motor 9 is rotated counterclockwise in Figure. 1 when a collision anticipation signal is sent from a collision anticipation device, so that a pawl 4 is raised upwards via a lever 6 and moved to a position where it makes contact with the serrations of a ratchet gear 1. Under these conditions, if torque is applied in the direction to wind up a seatbelt, the ratchet gear 1 tends to rotate counterclockwise in Figure. 1, but the stepped portions of the serrations of the ratchet gear 1 make contact wit the pawl 4 and lateral movement of the pawl 4 is restrained by a through hole 3, so the ratchet gear 1 cannot rotate. Rotation in the direction to wind up the seatbelt can be effected when the diagonal portions of the serrations of the ratchet gear 1 depress the pawl 4.</p> |
