PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microorganism immobilization support which increases the concentration of microorganisms in a treatment zone by sticking microorganisms to a molding of a synthetic resin or the like and which can effectively utilize even microorganisms sticking in the pores in the support and to provide a waste water treating method using the microorganism immobilization support. SOLUTION: In the waste water treating method, when aerobic or anaerobic waste water treatment with microorganisms is carried out, the microorganism immobilization support having flexibility and 'dustocloth wringing' effect and comprising a synthetic resin or synthetic rubber molding containing fine powder of a material which is charged with positive charges and having substantially open cells is housed in a treatment tank together with water to be treated.
