Appts. for the automatic control of the desalination of electrolyte solns. in a D.C. electrodyalysis machine includes (a) control circuit connected to the power source which itself is connected to the dialysis machine electrodes. A current intensity monitor is connected to the power source and to one inlet of a current intensity control unit, the other inlet of the unit being connected to a diluent throughput indicator itself connected to the inlet and outlet of the electrodialysis machine. The output from the control unit is fed to the control circuit of the power source whereby the current intensity is controlled according to the diluent throughput monitored. Used in desalination of electrolytes used in desalination operations. A constant concn. of electrolyte is ensured; errors due to soln. temp. variations, mains frequency changes, diluent throughput variation or ohmic resistance of the dyalysis machines are avoided.
