SUBSTANCE: molten core catcher is mounted on supports under reactor vessel; it is made in the form of spherical-bottom tank incorporating zirconium dioxide protective layer and stainless steel external layer; insulating layer is covered with additional layer of material that chemically binds ferric oxides in melt. Additional layer may be made of neodymium oxide. EFFECT: reduced adverse impact of ferric oxides on catcher protective layer which enhances its reliability. 2 cl, 1 dwg
