PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an optically active 3- hydroxypyrrolidine compound. SOLUTION: This optically active N-substituted-3-hydroxypyrrolidine compound can be produced by allowing the following enzyme (a) or (b) to act on an N-substituted-3-oxopyrrolidine compound. (a) The enzyme having an amino acid sequence represented by the sequence number 1 (see the specification). (b) The enzyme that comprises an amino acid sequence in which one to several amino acids are deleted, replaced or added in the sequence number 1 (see the specification) and has an enzymatic activity to reduce a pyrrolidin-3- one represented by the general formula (1) into the optically active 3- hydroxypyrrolidine compound represented by the general formula (2). |
