PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a film using a dope by which the film with outstanding smoothness and transparency and also high thickness precision can be formed. SOLUTION: In the method for forming the film by casting a dope over a casting band from a casting die, the casting band is used which has a central line average roughness of 0.005μm or less and a difference of 0.06 mm or less between a thickness at the thickest spot and a thickness at the thinnest spot.
