PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a recorder and a head against failure when a plurality of recording heads of different form are mounted erroneously. SOLUTION: At the time of mounting a head, power only for identifying the head is supplied and other power supply is thrown in only when a suitable head is mounted.
