PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clothes dryer which can stably detect clogging of a filter at suppressed cost. SOLUTION: This clothes dryer 1 passes air heated by a hot water type heat exchanger 6 to an exhaust duct 8 via a suction duct 5 and a rotary drum 3 by operating a suction/exhaust fan 9 to dry clothes S in the rotary drum 3. A differential pressure sensor 16 to detect the differential pressure between the upstream side and the downstream sideof the heat exchanger 6 outputs detection signals of the differential pressure changing corresponding the flow rate of air passing through the suction duct 5 to a controller 2 which judges generation of clogging in a filter 6 when the differential pressure comes to below a prescribed level, informs a user of generation of clogging in the filter 26, and prohibits execution of the drying operation.
