PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of abnormal vibrations in running by fixing an agitator in alignment to the axial center of a draft tube. SOLUTION: The agitating apparatus of the sludge digester which is extended with the top end of the draft tube 10 supported by means of supporting legs 20 from the lower part of the inner wall of the sludge digester 1 to the vertex of the sludge digester 1 and is removably installed with an agitator 30 into the draft tube 10 is provided with recessed tapering 16 on the inner side of the draft tube 10 and projecting tapering 34 fitted to the recessed tapering 16 on the outer side of the agitator 30. A guide support 35 is erected on the agitator 30 and is provided with a fixture 40 for fixing the upper part of the guide support 35 to the upper part of the draft tube 10.
