PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clean water treating method by a high treating efficiency capable of easily evaluating and maintaining a removal performance of a suspended substance and carrying out the optimum control not depending on a contaminant load fluctuation of a quality of water to be treated and a water amount fluctuation. SOLUTION: In the clean water treating method of the present invention, water 1 to be treated is introduced in a filtering device 3, a water quality measurement device is provided in a filtering step for removing a suspended substance in water to be treated and a water treating condition, or the like, is changed based on a water quality data. Turbidimeters 13 are provided at the former stage and the latter stage of the filtering device 3 to measure a turbidity by making the water quality data as the turbidity. A relationship of a difference between two measured turbidity data and a turbidity data at the former stage of the filtering device is approximated by a straight line to determine an inclination. The water treatment is carried out based on a degree of the inclination.
