The shutter is partic. for controlling the flow of granular material for weighing. A throttle flap hinges on a transverse axis in a housing and is in the form of a continuously rotating star, with radial opposite arms in a common plane. On the inlet side it is preceded by a guide plate sloping downwards and to the centre. The transverse axis (4) is accommodated in an annular housing (1) of the same cross-section as the pipe (11) for the material, and the guide plate (13) masks the half of the inlet cross-section where the arms are rotating towards it (y).
