ORIFICE PLATE FOR INK JET PRINTING HEAD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inexpensively and accurately manufacturing a plastic orifice plate to be used in a thermal ink jet printer. SOLUTION: The plastic orifice plate (28) having a specific pattern of orifices is formed with the use of a photoimageable polymer (20) and photolithography. When an ink jet printing head apparatus is to be formed, a thin film resistor structure having a plastic barrier layer (32) is set and, the formed plastic orifice plate (28) is bonded to the structure with the use of heat and pressure.
