PURPOSE: A hermetic rotary compressor is provided to suppress abnormal abrasion and forcible deterioration of parts due to increase of temperature and pressure. CONSTITUTION: A compressor includes a compressor main body(10) having a compression part(20) compressing refrigerant taken in through an inlet formed on one side thereof; an accumulator(40) placed on one side of the compressor main body to be fluidically connected with the compressor main body to supply gaseous refrigerant to the compression part; a detective device detecting at least either of temperature and pressure of refrigerant taken into the compression part or temperature of outside air of the compressor main body; a bypass passage pipe(51) having one end connected to an upstream side of the accumulator and the other end connected to a downstream side of the compressor main body with respect to flowing direction of refrigerant to form a bypass passage of the refrigerant; a passage switching part(60) having a plurality of outlets fluidically connected with an inlet side of the accumulator and an inlet side of the bypass passage pipe, respectively, and switching a passage so that refrigerant flows in either of the accumulator or the bypass passage pipe; and a control part controlling the passage switching part based on detection of the detective device.
