PURPOSE:To keep the HC, CO and SOF cleaning efficiency high and lower the sulfate emission amount. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust gas cleaning catalyst is composed of a coating layer of a mixture of activated carbon and at least one inorganic oxide selected from SiO2, TiO2, SiO2-TiO2, SiO2-ZrO2, TiO2-ZrO2, SiO2-Al2O3, TiO2-Al2O3, and zeolite and a catalytic metal carried on the coating layer of the mixture. The activated carbon absorbs the sulfate and also decomposes the sulfate and gasifies it and then discharges the resulting gas. |
