PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for protecting a memory are provided to prevent a malfunction of a write mode, although the logical value of a control signal is reversed, by considering and controlling two control signals related to the write mode at once. CONSTITUTION: A microprocessor(10) creates a write and download control signal when a write command is inputted from a keyboard. A logical circuit(20) composed of an inverter(21) and NAND gate(22), creates a final write control signal when both the write and the download control signal are satisfied with the write condition. A memory(30) is used to write the data corresponding to the logical value of the final write control signal.
